about me

Ethan Hacker is an active music educator, composer, and performer based in the Indianapolis, IN area. He currently studies at the University of Indianapolis pursuing a B.M. in Music Education & Music Performance. He also currently serves as Jr. Collegiate Representative for the Indiana Music Education Association (IMEA), a position elected by collegiate students across the state. Ethan has taught front ensemble, battery, and concert percussion in many schools in the area and is always seeking more teaching opportunities.

As a performer, he stays very active in his Universities ensembles performing in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Pep Band, Latin Jazz Funk Ensemble, & much more. In his off time, he plays with many volunteer/community ensembles like the Indianapolis Brass Choir & Pride of Indy Band. As a composer, Ethan has written everything ranging from drumline cadences to chamber music. Notable teachers and instructors include Dr. Terence Mayhue (percussion) and Dr. John Berners (composition).

Beyond music, Ethan enjoys spending his time at home with his fiancée, Jennifer, and their cat, Fiona.
